About the Artist
Laurie Olsen grew up in a large funny creative family in Minnesota. She credits her Mom for instilling a love to create art at an early age. Laurie completed a BFA in Minnesota and has worked in several National Parks including Acadia, Glacier Bay and Denali. Laurie spent 13 years in Homer, Alaska. She met the love of her life, a commercial fisherman, and settled with him and their four children in Snohomish, Washington where she keeps her small studio. Laurie's inspiration comes from her respect and love of nature, the sea, and the people and living things around her. Passionate about inspiring others to create and appreciate art, Laurie's style, like her life, is eclectic, colorful and expressive, often highlighting her humor and appreciation for all that surrounds her.
